Shipping & Payment

Goods are sold on DAP terms: the price does not include import duty, VAT, customs clearance or brokerage. Whatever your own country levies on the parcel is payable by you, usually to the carrier, before it is released.

Two developments are worth knowing before you order, because both are recent enough that buyers still expect the old rules:

• —The United States no longer exempts low-value shipments from duty. A parcel that would once have entered free of charge under the de minimis rule now clears through a formal process and is charged accordingly.
• —In the EU, VAT is due on imported goods at every value; consignments above €150 also clear through standard customs procedures and attract duty as well.

We do not under-declare parcels, and we do not mark a sale as a gift. Beyond being fraudulent, it destroys the insurance: a declared value is what a carrier pays out on if the parcel is lost.

Ukraine. Parcels are handed to an international carrier or to the national postal operator depending on the destination and on what is insurable to it.

europe

Typically 5–12 working days after dispatch, plus whatever customs adds at your end.

north america

Typically 8–18 working days after dispatch, plus customs. Formal clearance is now the norm rather than the exception.

elsewhere

Quoted per destination before dispatch. Some countries are served only by a route we would rather explain than assume.

cost

Quoted per destination together with the terms, before anything is agreed — the carrier’s rate for the service you choose, with no packing surcharge of ours on top. Where more than one service reaches you, you are shown the standard rate and the faster one and pick between them.

tracking

Always provided, end-to-end wherever the carrier supports it, and sent to the address the enquiry came from on the day the parcel leaves.

These are ranges, not promises. Wartime routing out of Ukraine, a customs backlog or a public holiday will move them, and when something is delayed we write to you first rather than waiting to be asked.

The piece travels in a rigid box. Buckles and clasps are wrapped separately so metal never rests against leather, and the strap is not compressed at the bend. The piece card — the card stating the reference and the four measurements — goes in with it, and that card is what a return or a description dispute is checked against, so keep it.

• —Every parcel is dispatched at its full declared value and insured for it.
• —For consumer buyers, risk passes on delivery to you or to a person you have named. This is the position in the EU regardless of what any term says, and we apply it everywhere.
• —For commercial buyers, risk passes on dispatch to the carrier.
• —Title passes when payment has cleared in full.

If a parcel is lost or arrives damaged, the claim is ours to pursue and not yours — the procedure is set out on the Returns & Refunds sheet.

Payment terms are arranged individually by email after your enquiry, once availability has been confirmed and the destination is known. Nothing is charged through this site, no payment details are collected here, and no method is named on any page — what suits a buyer in Osaka and a buyer in Vienna are not the same instrument.

Nothing is due before you have agreed the terms in writing. An invoice, where one is wanted, comes from sales@grandstraps.com after that and not before.
